道德经: 前言

daodejing: intro

hello and congratulations for reading this

i am guessing you are a human who is using the internet

you deal with a lot of information every day

you are coping really well

now it’s time to absorb some things about the

道德經dàodéjīng

it’s two-and-a-half thousand years old

written by laozian old chinese master

laozi may not have existed

but that doesn’t mean he’s not a smart guy

you can find him swimming around the internet

dropping bombs of wisdom

most of them coming from his best-seller

the daodejing

the precise origins of this mythical man and text

are muddled by the passing of time

and by many scholarly points of view which are boring and difficult to read

it’s made up of 81 little passages reeking of old wisdom worth preserving

it stays relevant

laozi is still en pointe

me reading laozi

as an early-to-mid thirties college student

i am more of an old child than a fully-fledged adult

i have been learning chinese language and philosophy for more than a decade

but of course

many of you know more about chinese language and the daodejing than I do

and that’s absolutely fine

join me on a journey of chinese learning

and philosophical pondering

maybe you are my teacher

maybe you are my student

please get in touch

to teach me

or ask me

things
